The cause of the fire at the GIS on Wednesday (17th June) is currently under investigation although the caretaker suggests that a chain locking the heavy metal gates of the mosque had been cut. It is the second petrol bomb attack on the Centre in one week. Dr Tariq Abbasi, the Centre’s Director, said: "This is as bad as it can get. Nobody deserves this. Seeing burnt copies of the Koran, the emotional impact has been devastating.
