Contrast the Independent’s headline on the article and its opening paragraph with the coverage on the same in the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. 'Two out of three people believe burkhas should be banned in public...' When in fact two out of three people oppose a ban on wearing the burqa in 'any public place'. While the Independent article conveys concerns over security at banks and airports, the Daily Mail and Daily Express barely conceal their editorial instinct in emphasizing the one third of Britons who would like the wearing of the burqa to be made illegal in any public place, compared to the two thirds of Britons who wouldn’t.
